I founded RPF Firearms in 2013, driven by a deep appreciation for firearms as both tools and art. My passion for them goes beyond mere function; I see them as intricate designs with purpose. While I didn’t grow up in a hunting family, I always had a fascination with firearms. My dad had an old White Powder Wonder 20ga inherited from his uncle, but it was more of a keepsake than a functional tool, with no ammo to match. My first real hunting experience was with a fellow church member who took me squirrel hunting one afternoon — and that was it, I was hooked.
Over time, my experiences at gun stores left a lasting impact. My first retail gun purchase was an eye-opener: I went in knowing exactly what I wanted, only to leave with something completely different due to high-pressure sales tactics. Another negative experience involved a gun store owner who was as condescending as he was helpful. These moments stuck with me and became a driving force behind my desire to create a different kind of experience for clients.
Once I obtained my FFL and began building a clientele, I had the opportunity to see a wide range of firearms and get an insider’s look at what was out there. Many of my own personal firearm purchases came from seeing what others ordered, sparking my own interest.
At RPF Firearms, you’ll never encounter high-pressure sales. That’s simply not how I operate. If you know exactly what you want, great — if not, I’m here to offer guidance, not dictate what you should have. What you will find is a relaxed, pressure-free atmosphere. I don’t claim to be an expert, but if I don’t know the answer to something, I’ll do my best to find it out for you.
My sincere heartfelt thanks to all of my clients and non-profit partners (Jasper County Pheasants Forever, Jasper County Ducks Unlimited and Newton Shooting Sports) who have worked with me over the past nearly 12 years. Your ongoing support of my small business means the world to me and is truly appreciated. I’m looking forward to many more years of working with all of you!
I would like to extend my gratitude to my good friend, Doug, whose unwavering support and generosity have made it possible for me to take this exciting next step in expanding RPF Firearms — providing me with a dedicated space outside of my home. His belief in this journey and commitment to helping me grow means the world to me.
I also want to express my deepest appreciation to my incredible wife, Melody, whose unwavering support has been a constant source of strength. From the moment I first shared this dream with her to her dedication in helping me bring it to life, she has been a rock. Her creativity and vision have played a crucial role in designing the logo, signage, website and countless other elements that make RPF Firearms unique. I’m thankful for her love, her belief in this journey and the many ways she has helped shape RPF into what it is today.
